Glamping Adventure

Glamping Adventure

I have been dreaming of going glamping for a very long time and this summer my husband surprised me with a mini getaway for our 4th Wedding Anniversary. It was the most beautiful setting for a couples getaway. It was nice to take a step away from the phones and reconnect with nature.

The tent was adorable and glamorous, and the site had many cute little details. One being the outdoor shower & toilet. It might not seem like the most enjoyable experience to be outside when going to the washroom but it was very unique.

The outside kitchen had everything you would need for the perfect outdoor culinary experience.

I love being able to be with my husband and sit around the fire and connect with what is important. Without having the distraction of all the electronics, we spent our evenings playing board games and cards. It really takes you back to a simpler time. If you have been thinking about glamping I would definitely recommend it.

Mexican Adventure

Mexican Adventure

It was such an amazing trip! 10 days in paradise was not enough. This was our eighth time in Mexico and every time we are there we dream of how we could become permanent vacationers (like in the Ben Stiller movie The Heartbreak Kid). It starts when we first touch down and go immediately outside to the airport bar to have the first sips of the margaritas (which always seem to taste the best). Exploring all the quaint little towns and exploring new beaches was a dream come true. Not to mention all the amazing food…octopus tacos, ceviche, shrimp, fish - it was all so good.

I wanted to share some of my favourite photos from my trip! Share some of your favourite spots and memories from traveling to Mexico!

Can’t wait to plan my next trip!

Anniversary Shoot

My husband and I were looking to do something different for our anniversary and thought a photo shoot with our new puppy Willy would be a great idea. As many of you already know, Willy joined the Twist gang a few months ago and we wanted to get some great shots of him as a little puppy. My husband and I had been going back and forth for years about getting a dog and finally were in the right place in our life that we were able to dedicate the time so we pulled the trigger. He is the perfect dog for the two of us as he is able to play rough with James and snuggle up with me at night. What a joy he brings to our already amazing life!

Whoever said you can’t buy happiness forgot little puppies

Birthday Vacation

Going away for my birthday has somewhat become a tradition for my husband and I over the past 5 years. I love travelling to the west coast of Canada as, in my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful places. It has an amazing vibe and some of the most beautiful scenery around. Anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE wine - and what's better than spending my birthday travelling to different wineries. After about my third day of drinking, I turned to my husband and said how can anyone get sick of doing wine tasting.  Well, after a full fun day of drinking on my birthday, I woke up to one of the worst hangovers and all I wanted to do was sleep :( There is such a thing as too much wine.

Here are some of my favorite photos.

Tea Party

Tea Party

I love to get the girls together for a tea party! It is a fun way to celebrate with girlfriends in a way that doesn't involve a night of drinking. It brings you back to a simpler time where you aren't looking at the phone every two seconds.  Taking flowers from the garden and adding a couple of special touches makes a magical setting.

I have been collecting tea cups since my teen years and I love that that every teacup tells its own story. What is your favorite memory that revolves aroung tea?

I would rather have nothing but tea

European Vacation

European Vacation

I can't believe it has already been 6 months since I got back from my European adventure. A trip my husband and I had been planning since we got back from our honeymoon in Greece. It was hard to decide on what cities we wanted to explore as there are so many we wanted to visit.  We decided on London, Venice, Vienna and Monte Carlo which were all places that I had been dreaming of. It was such a whirlwind with so many amazing experiences - here are just a few of them.

We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.

Melissa in Montebello

Melissa in Montebello

It is always nice to escape the routine and go on a mini adventure -  and it's hard to find anything better than Montebello! I had seen several images on the web and was amazed at how magical this place looked. It definitely lived up to its expectations. The most beautiful log cabin in the woods took me back to a simplier time.

I also got to check an item off of my bucket list which was dog sledding. It definately created a memory that I will never forget!

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MYSELF

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MYSELF

I decided to start a blog so I can share all the fun and exciting things that I am doing! It is going to be a mash up of weddings, events, travel, food and everything that sparkles.

After 5 five long years living and working in Toronto, I needed a lifestyle change. So I decided enough was enough, packed by bags and headed North to Collingwood for a simpler life. Collingwood was a little crazy to most people…who am I kidding…everyone! Moving to the sticks….where is Collingwood?…were just some of the comments that I received. It was a crazy concept for most.

Starting my own events company with no friends or family in the area was, and still is daunting! But there was no way I was going to let that stop me! A quote that I live by everyday is "Design the life you want to live" which is what I set out to do.

Design the life you want to live

I have now been living in Collingwood for two years and haven't looked back. It is still really hard some days but what makes up for it is living in one of the most beautiful places in the Canada.

Look at this blog as a photo journey for everything that inspires me!

xoxo
